Donald Trump invites Vladimir Putin to Washington

Trump, however, has said it is in USA interests to establish a solid working relationship with Putin. The US President is already facing allegations of seeking Russian aid to meddle in the 2016 presidential elections.

The meeting in Washington was brought up after President Donald Trump's controversial summit with Putin in Helsinki.

Here we are, just under two weeks from the elections and we now know that the two leaders will meet on November 11 in Paris, France, during a celebration for the 100th anniversary of the armistice in Paris.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has been invited to visit Washington next year, United States officials said.

Mr Putin said dismantling a global arms control system was "very risky", adding Russian Federation was concerned that the U.S. had abandoned the Anti-Ballistic Missile treaty, planned to ditch the INF, and left the future of the New Start unclear.

Trump's initial statement contradicted USA intelligence agencies that concluded Russian Federation was involved.

EUROPEAN nations are in "grave danger" of a Russian "counter-strike" if they host USA nuclear missiles, Vladimir Putin has chillingly warned.

Trump and Putin met previously in Helsinki, Finland.

Russian president Putin had last visited the White House in September 2005.

He also said that he discussed regional issues and U.S.

But he added: "I want to emphasise that we can't be those who initiate it because we don't foresee a preventive strike".

On 20 October the President of the United States Donald trump announced the U.S. intention to withdraw from the Treaty with Russia on the elimination of intermediate and short range, after which the Russian President announced his intention to meet with his us counterpart in Paris.
