IPhone XR early video reviews arrive ahead of Friday preorders

The iPhone XR certainly isn't the most exciting handset Apple launched this fall, but thanks to its more affordable price tag and gorgeous color options, it will nearly certainly prove to be a big hit among a large number of Apple fans.

Update Oct. 19, 1:06AM PDT: Coral iPhone XR in 128GB looks to be the first configuration to sell out in Canada for in-store pick up, as it's now showing as "unavailable".

The iPhone XR falls well below the iPhone XS and XS Max because it brings an LCD display rather than OLED.

While pre-order for the iPhone XR will begin tomorrow, the device will go on sale starting October 26 across Apple Authorised Resellers in India. While still pricey for a phone, it's the cheapest iPhone Apple has released without a home button, allowing more space for a bigger screen.

The base variant of the iPhone XR is priced at Rs 76,900 in India. This is significantly lower than the XS and XS Max, and at par with the launch prices of last year's iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.

If you want to buy the XR SIM-free and spread the cost then you can opt to purchase it through Apple's iPhone Upgrade Programme. With this model, the prices total up to RM3291, RM3491 and RM3951 for the 64GB, 128GB and 256GB models, respectively.

"Other bullet-points hit during the 35-second video are the durable class cover, fast A12 Bionic processor and water-resistance".

The iPhone XR with 12MP rear camera and 7MP front sensor claims to have better lowa'light performance.

The new iPhone XR comes with all-screen glass and aluminium design.

The iPhone XR sports a 6.1-inch edge-to-edge LCD display with 1792 x 828 pixel resolution and 326 PPI.

Apple made the iPhone XR available for preorder starting at 12:01 a.m. On the front, the handset gets a 7-megapixel selfie camera with an improved Portrait mode, f/2.2 aperture, an IR camera, and a diffractive beam splitter.
