Teenager charged with stealing from celebrity homes

TMZ reports that four people have been arrested in connection to breaking in the homes of Rihanna, Christina Milian and Robert Woods of the LA Rams. Hall's mother, 34-year-old Ashle Hall, was arrested on Sunday, Carranza said.

At a news conference Tuesday, police displayed recovered items they believe were stolen, including expensive watches, handbags, jewelry, and cell phones.

In the home of one suspect, police seized a list containing a dozen other targets, including LeBron James and actors Viola Davis and Matt Damon, along with their addresses, Ms Carranza said.

Police say the victims were chosen when their social media postings and schedules indicated they would be away from home.

The Los Angeles Police Department released surveillance video showing two men burglarizing Puig's home last month and asked for the public's help in identifying them. According to the L.A. Times, $50,000 in cash was found at one of the suspect's homes, in addition to "a pile of Rolexes, purses and jewels".

Carranza said that the suspects referred to their crimes as "flocking".

According to The Times, detectives who detained Williams found items inside his vehicle that had been taken from Woods' home, along with items stolen during recent break-ins at the homes of Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig and singers Rihanna and Christina Milian. It is reported that the thieves would wear dress shirts and business casual attire while riding in luxury cars as camouflage. It's unclear whether the other three suspects have been charged.

Rihanna was among the celebrities targeted in a series of Los Angeles-area home burglaries, police say.

In the last two years, a number of celebrity home burglaries are understood to have taken place around Los Angeles which police believe may be linked.

After knocking on the door to make sure nobody was home, the thieves would break in through a door or window and clean out the master bedroom, stealing cash, weapons, watches and other items in a matter of minutes - often before the alarm company could notify police, Carranza said.

In 2017, singer Alanis Morissette had about $2 million in jewelry and valuables stolen from her Brentwood mansion.

Rappers Wiz Khalifa and Post Malone were also hit. A month later, National Basketball Association guard Nick Young came home from a game against the Orlando Magic to find that his Sherman Oaks home had been burglarized, ESPN reported.
