India vs West Indies, 1st T20I

The highly-anticipated match will be played on November 4, Sunday, and it will start at 7 pm India time.

The visitors have beaten India in five of their seven meetings in T20Is - a comforting stat that should give the new-look West Indies a lot of confidence.

With Virat Kohli rested ahead of the bigger battles Down Under, India's stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma will have the task getting India's record better against the Windies. Hosts India have been dominating them since the start of the series in October. Less than a week after two-time World Cup-winning skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni was left out of India's T20I squad, captain Virat Kohli has said he remains an integral part of India's plans. The man who helped the Caribbeans win their second World T20 title with a spectacular final-over-flourish in 2016 at the Eden Gardens will be hoping his favourite venue brings him and his team luck.

The Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder was conspicuous by his absence as a 13-member West Indies squad led by Carlos Brathwaite sweated it out under lights this evening.

For the clash at historic Eden Gardens, there will be no Chris Gayle - the most successful batsman ever in T20s - nor any Evin Lewis, who has already plundered two centuries in 17 matches.

Rohit Sharma (c), Shikhar Dhawan, Lokesh Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Manish Pandey, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Krunal Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, K Khaleel Ahmed, Umesh Yadav.

While Darren Bravo is set to play for West Indies for the first time in two years, dashing all-rounder Pollard will don the national jersey for the first time in a year. Young Shimron Hetmeyar, who displayed red-hot form in the ODIs will be another player to watch out for. The humidity is expected to be high and there will be a bit of dew as well throughout the match.

"No comments (on Andre Russell)".

The Indian team has been on a roll at home for quite some time and against a weakened Windies have looked invincible for most parts of the series.
