Man fatally shoots woman at Florida Walmart

OPD says 54-year-old David Johnson shot and killed 30-year-old Carli Cronin at the Walmart on East Silver Springs Boulevard.

The suspect, David Johnson, 55, fled on a bicycle and was caught at the couple's house nearby.

Florida police say they do not expect the suspect in a fatal Walmart shooting to survive.

Marion County officials say this shooting is the 12th domestic homicide this year. Police also said via Twitter that they will be releasing a photo of the suspect as soon as possible. Ballard said Johnson threatened Cronin, saying at one point he was "coming strapped" for her.

Ballard told the newspaper that the pair had been arguing all day Saturday because he wanted to get back together and she did not.

Police said he was later found with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Cronin was pronounced dead at Ocala Regional Medical Center, according to Ocala Fire Rescue.

No additional details are available.

Colleen Wade told the Ocala Star-banner that she was shopping inside the store, walking toward the garden area, when she heard a crashing sound. He calmly left the store and rode away, Wade said.

The woman was taken to a hospital, where she died.

No other shoppers or employees were injured. They were fighting near the Walmart garden section Saturday afternoon when the woman screamed for help.

The victim, 30, died at a hospital, Ocala Police Department said.

The man fled and officers are searching for him.
