See the first trailer for live-action Lion King movie

The new Lion King's story was written by Catch Me If You Can and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales' Jeff Nathanson.

During the Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Redskins match up on FOX Disney premiered the first teaser trailer for the upcoming highly anticipated "live-action" adaptation of the beloved 1994 film, The Lion King.

Directed by Jon Favreau, who previously directed the 2016 live-action film The Jungle Book, fans of the original 1994 film will instantly be transported the famous Circle of Life. Get a first look at the brand new version of the classic film in the player below!

The all-star cast includes Emmy award victor Donald Glover, Grammy award victor Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Chiwetel Ejofor, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, John Oliver, John Kani, Alfre Woodard, Florence Kasumba, Eric Andre and Keegan-Michael Key. As expected, this looks fantastic and will probably make a ton of movie because Favreau knows how to perfectly craft these fresh CGI Disney updates.

The Lion King will release in Australia on July 18, 2019.

James Earl Jones, who came back to voice Mufasa once again, says in the trailer that "everything the light touches is our kingdom". JD McCrary and Shahadi Wright Joseph will play young Simba and young Nala, respectively.

The Lion King heads to theatres once more mid-2019. Simba's parents Mufasa (Jones) and Sarabi (Alfre Woodard) are seen from afar. Feel free to tell me how wrong I am in the comments. News talked to Eichner about his role in The Lion King.
