'The Lion King' official teaser trailer is here

Disney released the first trailer for its live-action remake of the mega-hit film "The Lion King" on Thursday.

Responses to the trailer are overwhelmingly positive, after the initial hesitation a year ago when plans for a live-action (okay, CGI) remake of the 1994 animated classic were announced.

The original film is well known and loved by many across the globe, and was released in 1994.

Billy Eichner and Seth Rogan will voice Simba's exile companion's Timon and Pumbaa.

Another tweet read: "yeah i just cried during the live action lion king trailer so what?"

The live-action remake of the 1994 original reintroduces viewers to Simba (Donald Glover), who returns to Pride Rock to take his place as king. Additionally, the behind-the-scenes features will more than likely be sought after by fans who are interested in how exactly Jon Favreau and crew were able to put this new version of The Lion King together. Hans Zimmer's score swells, James Earl Jones' voice booms out as Mufasa once more, and it's hard not to be swept up in the wonder of it all. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. As the trailer shows off the vast African wildlife, he says, "Everything the light touches is our kingdom".

King Mufasa can be heard explaining to Simba that his reign won't last forever and that Simba will have to become king one day.

The new Lion King's story was written by Catch Me If You Can and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales' Jeff Nathanson. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub's arrival. Let us know in the comment section below!
