Android phones power this hilarious glitter-bombing Amazon package decoy

Mark Rober, who worked for Nasa's Jet Propulsion Laboratory for nine years, said in a YouTube video that he spent six months building a "glitter bomb revenge package" after someone stole a parcel from his porch in May.

Mark Rober said a woman was caught on his home security camera walking up to his door and stealing a package off of his porch.

As the thief opens the package, wires are tripped that cause the motor inside to start spinning, covering those nearby in glitter.

Rober created a device that would spray thieves with glitter and fart spray upon opening the package.

Even though Mark Rober had video footage of the thefts, police refused to help, saying it was simply not worth their time to follow up, particularly as this kind of activity spikes pretty dramatically around this time of year. After having a couple of packages stolen and being met with an unsympathetic police department, he chose to take things into his own hands.

A custom circuit circuit board will check the Global Positioning System location of the package when it's moved from the porch. A note to would-be package thieves: you might want to think twice before taking a package from Rober or others - it could lead to your demise via lots of shiny, sparkling glitter.

The device goes off as soon as the package is opened, spraying a colossal amount of glitter everywhere.

So.equipped with the phones, he was able to record the reactions of the thieves - and they are SO great!

The video already has over 7 million views, as of Tuesday morning.

He said he created the bomb to explode when thieves tried to take packages off his porch.
