Black Mirror: Bandersnatch lands on Netflix this week

Annabel Jones, Andrew Sullivan, and Charlie Booker of the Netflix show Black Mirror. But there are also multiple variations of each ending, so chances are slim of you getting the exact same story as another viewer. There are apparently five different potential outcomes for the episode, reportedly ranging from hilarious to terrifying, depending on how you made a decision to play out the episode yourself.

So what is Bandersnatch about? The company's owner Mohan (People Just Do Nothing's Asim Chaudhry) wants the game done soon rather than done well, while the game designer superstar Colin (Will Poulter - The Revenant, Glassland) recommends slow and steady. David Slade ("Hannibal") directed the special episode.

Bandersnatch took 35 days to film and takes around 90 minutes to watch, according to the Global News website.

Despite the distinct ties in literary culture, there's no way to conclude how Black Mirror will transform the Bandersnatch until its premiere Friday.

"[The story] kept expanding, even when we were in pre-production", recalled Brooker.

And yes, you can keep going back to make new choices once your "Bandersnatch" experience is done. But for others, you will receive the option to do it over. If you take the simplest route, it will be over in around 40-minutes.

"When it's a concept piece, a bit of madness is what you need", Stefan is told by a second man before he flushes his medicine and begins work on the game.

The magazine also reports that there are more than one trillion different versions of the story, but a lot of them don't actually affect the outcome of Stefan's life. But it leaves mysterious whether viewers will have a choice in the matter in the final moments of Bandersnatch. "I promise you will know when that moment happens", said Engelbrecht.

But its latest interactive story is definitely not a kids one. "If it wasn't interactive, you'd just watch and probably be appalled and anxious and frightened for him in that moment. If you're making that decision, how does that affect your relationship with the film?"

Ah Black Mirror, never change.

A choose-your-own-adventure drama has been released by Netflix, with viewers given the chance for first time to determine the ending.

While Black Mirror has not stuck to an annual release schedule, Bandersnatch is set to be released on December 28 - just under a year since the release of Season 4. Bandersnatch is kind of like Memento - if you were to string it all together into one single, chronological narrative, the end result wouldn't be almost as interesting.
