National weather on Monday will include some rain and mountain snows in the western United States. Pockets of drizzle to light showers will be possible until noon, before breaking clouds bring temperatures near 70° through the early evening. By Monday, a new system will approach the California coast from the west - accompanied by more rain and snow.

Britain is set for a wet and rainy weekend in the lead up to Christmas with little chance of any snow falling before the big day.

In Saskatchewan Scott said there isn't a lot of snow on the ground, but there's enough to make it a white Christmas as about one centimetre of snow is expected to top it off for Christmas Days in most parts of the province.

Further north in Flagstaff, rain and snow were expected to fall beginning on Tuesday afternoon and into Wednesday morning.

"It will certainly be a white Christmas in every aspect for all of Manitoba", said Scott.

If you're heading to family and friends for Christmas Day, the weather will cooperate with plenty of sunshine and cold temperatures. Then we'll have a few on-and-off areas of rain possible through Wednesday before our next storm system moves in on Thursday.

Once again this storm will move west of the coastline, allowing for more warm air to flood northward. There may be another storm system at start the New Year but that could also be in the form of rain.
