Kesha & Dr. Luke's Defamation Suit Continues Following Rape Allegations

Lady Gaga messaged to Kesha, she wrote "She is probably really afraid to lose everything", Gaga's text read.

In the texts, Kesha says she's "really upset" with Perry because she could help bring Luke to justice but won't. These are old texts. The pop star said she felt pressured to support the pop-star, but the ex-Sony producer never raped her at any point.

Gaga's reps responded to the subpoena in a statement released to ET saying: "As Lady Gaga's legal team will present to the court, she has provided all of the relevant information in her possession and is at most an ancillary witness in this process".

Kesha: You're right. I need to find sympathy and empathy for her.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't - at least, that's what she went through at the time, it seems.

In an exchange with Kesha in 2016, Gaga and Kesha called Perry "mean" for not reporting producer Dr Luke for allegedly raping her, an allegation both Perry and Dr Luke deny.

Dr. Lukes legal team claims that "Kesha maliciously plotted to destroy Dr. Luke's business and reputation" after their contract negotiations of 2012 turned sour in disagreement. "Dr. Luke testified, under oath and in great detail, that he did not have any sexual or physical contact with Kesha".

Both Katy and Kesha (last name Sebert) officially denied Dr. Luke ever raped them, and in the two-time Grammy nominee's case her 2011 deposition forced her to eventually drop her sex abuse case in 2016.

In a statement on Friday, Sean Cassidy, a spokesman for Gaga, added, "These text messages paint a picture of one friend trying to help another through an extraordinary hard time".

Lady Gaga and Katy Perry have lots of love for each other.

As for Perry, she responded to Gaga on Twitter writing, "Onward and upward".

As it was previously reported, the messages first came out after The Blast obtained documents from Perry's 2017 testimony.

The disagreement spurs from what Perry maintains is a misunderstanding that Perry was also sexually assaulted by Dr Luke, but refused to speak out in support of Kesha.

"People were generally very angry at me for not saying anything."

The singer added: 'I want to stay out of it because I know them both and I empathise with both of them and obviously it's a terrible situation for both of them. And the only two people that know what really went on are those two people. Her lawsuit against him was dismissed, but Luke filed a defamation case against her for the accusations.

Kesha has yet to weigh in on the old messages.
