NYPD hunt couple who lost ring during romantic proposal

The bride-to-be, Daniella, tweeted Sunday that her fiancé John proposed in Central Park, but the ring was too big and fell off while they were walking in Times Square on Friday.

"WE HAVE YOUR RING!" the NYPD's Midtown North Precinct tweeted after the jewelry was recovered. Police say the couple, who had returned to England, got in touch and the ring will get back to them.

Though the couple and police on-scene eventually gave up searching, the New York Police Department was able to return. Police have shared pictures of the footage from security cameras in the hope they will help them make sure the ring gets back to its rightful owners.

Good news came earlier today, with reports the couple had been located.

The happy couple made a decision to grab a bite to eat and see the Christmas Spectacular in Times Square when the ring escaped.

"I am licensed to practice as a Proposal Location Judge and I would rate this one as a two in regards to kneeling over a grate", another user said.

"We are so happy, we can't believe it", they told the BBC on Sunday evening. "There were autumn leaves everywhere and not many people". "Bouncing once... bouncing twice and then it was gone", Mr Drennan said.

Afterwards, they put out a call on social media asking others to help identify the couple. "But we are so happy".
