Sara Ali Khan`s Kedarnath to not release in Uttarakhand?

After Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Padmaavat invited the wrath of Hindu extremist groups earlier this year, Sara Ali Khan starrer Kedarnath is Bollywood's latest offering that has enraged far-right groups in the country who have unanimously called for a ban on the film citing the glorification of love-jihad in the movie reportedly.

The division bench, comprising Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice Ramesh Chand Khulbe, also advised the petitioner to approach a high-powered committee formed by the state government under the chairmanship of tourism minister Satpal Maharaj. The movie stars Sushant Singh Rajput, Sara Ali Khan, Nitish Bharadwaj, Alka Amin, Sonali Sachdev and Pooja Gor.

Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, Kedarnath which is set against the backdrop of the devastating 2013 Uttarakhand flood, has been released nationwide on Friday. Whether releated to brawl in the making team to the Uttarkhand government banning its release in the state, over and out from this Kedarnath gets its path and is at the ticket counters finally. The court told Bharti to raise its objections with Maharaj's committee. We are not the censor board.

Of the hilly state's 13 districts, only seven have movie theatres and Kedarnath has been banned in all of them.

The District Magistrates have chose to not allow the release.

According to a Times Of India report, the Uttarakhand high court said, "Don't see the movie if you don't like it. The state shall ensure law and order is maintained".

Swami Darshan Bharti of Garhwal had demanded that the film should be banned.

The districts where the film has been banned include Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, Pauri, Tehri and Almora, the ADG said.
