Ariana Grande is about to make history as the youngest female headliner at Coachella.

The 25-year-old Thank U, Next hitmaker will be joining Childish Gambino and Tame Impala as headliners of the highly-popular Indio, California festival.

Meanwhile, Tame Impala's Kevin Parker - who's spent the years since their 2015 album Currents collaborating with Rihanna, Travis Scott, and Kanye West - teased "new sounds" for the group on social media.

DJ Snake, Diplo, Ella Mai, Jaden Smith, Solange, Weezer, Wiz Khalifa, Khalid, Zedd and Pusha T are also slated to perform.

God Is A Woman hitmaker Ariana will be headlining on Sunday April 14 and 21 2019 when the desert-based fest returns in a few months.

Tickets go on sale on Friday.

Actor/rapper Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino has been announced for the music festival.

According to TMZ , Kanye refused to perform a traditional 60x40ft stage because it was "artistically limiting".

After joining Kygo for a surprise appearance during the festival's second weekend previous year, Ariana Grande will make her headlining debut on Sunday.

He continued, "I try not to talk too much about it, because it was a private day, but it remains one of the highlights of my life, for sure".
