Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi has loan terminated by Valencia, confirms general director

Thierry Henry has worked with the 25 year old with the national team, including at the World Cup, and is now trying to get his side away from the relegation zone in Ligue 1.

Batshuayi has fallen down the pecking order since a £31 million move to Stamford Bridge in 2016. "We are negotiating the player's exit with various other clubs", Alemany noted.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, January 10, Valencia's sporting director Mateu Alemany confirmed the Belgian forward will be returning to west London this January.

The reigning Super Lig champions could face competition from Everton who are keen on Batshuayi but only as a permanent transfer option according to Sky Sports.

The La Liga club confirmed Batshuayi's premature exit, opening the door for a deal in the second half of the season.

"I know him well, we were close with Belgium", Henry said of the forward.

But Chelsea should scrap any plans to offload the Belgium global and give him an unexcited opportunity with them for the second half of the season. Valencia say he will leave the club as soon as possible but his time in Spain might not be finished.

Everton have been crying out for a prolific frontman with Cenk Tosun falling out of favour under Marco Silva, and Oumar Niasse deemed not good enough. "He is leaving and it's now a matter of negotiation".

But Everton should overlook the fact that it is Batshuayi's poor performances that have even opened the door to them signing him at this juncture at all.

Premier League rules do not permit English top-flight clubs to loan more than one player to the same club.
