Liverpool agree deal to sell Dominic Solanke for £19m

Solanke's arrival will pave the way for Jermain Defoe to join Rangers on an 18-month loan.

Formerly of Crystal Palace and Southampton, Clyne left Saints for Merseyside in July 2015 and started all but six of Liverpool's Premier League games in his first two seasons at the club, winning a place in England's Euro 2016 squad.

Liverpool offered £3m and Chelsea wanted £10m in compensation and it took nearly a year before a figure was agreed.

The Cherries are set for a major double swoop on the Anfield club with Solanke joining Nathaniel Clyne at the south coast club, with the defender set for a loan move to Dorset.

Solanke will fit comfortably into Howe's philosophy for quick strikers and young, home-grown players.

The worry amongst Bournemouth fans will be that the arrival of Solanke could pave the way for Callum Wilson to leave the club, with Chelsea known to be massive admirers of the England worldwide. Over the past few years, they have been really good in the Premier League and had some good positional finishes as well.

"I've spoken to the manager and we've talked about what we can achieve for the remainder of the season".

Jurgen Klopp, Manager of Liverpool embraces with Eddie Howe, Manager of AFC Bournemouth prior to the Premier League match between AFC Bournemouth and Liverpool FC at Vitality Stadium on December 8, 2018 in Bournemouth, United Kingdom.

"I'm really excited by this opportunity", Clyne told afcbTV.

"He has done very well for England at various age groups, has a huge amount of potential and I'm really excited about working with him".
