Man screaming 'why don't you die' at spider triggers full police response

The Western Australian reported there were multiple calls to the police, after neighbours heard the man repeatedly screaming: "Why don't you die" and a small child screaming. Justifiably, the passerby called the police.

A concerned passerby called the police after they heard the screaming, coupled with a toddler's cries.

He sheepishly apologised for the inconvenience.

The log closed with an update on both the family and the eight-legged creature: "No injuries sighted (except to spider)".

Wanneroo Police posted a screenshot of a police log about the incident on Twitter on Wednesday morning, but was later deleted.

WA Police force told i the incident was something the officers involved "will definitely remember".

Wanneroo Police posted the original incident report on Twitter with the caption: "Never a boring moment for police!"

Police from Wanneroo converged on the scene and were relieved to find the man had only been screaming at a rather scary spider. The police log would be transcribed in a separate post, the spokesman said.

The man apologised to the police officers attending the scene, admitting he was terrified of arachnids.

Australia is known to have some of the most unsafe spiders in the world, although most of the 2,900 species are harmless.

A spider and one very arachnophobic resident. Jayden Burleigh, from Sydney, died after receiving treatment at a hospital.
