National Weather Service issues Winter Weather Advisory for much of the Ozarks

By 5 PM snow will begin to expand into southern Iowa and slowly creep north through the remainder of the evening.

As the system moves east toward the southeastern United States snow will spread into central IL tonight and continue through the day Saturday.

"There is a winter weather advisory in effect along and south of (Interstate)-80 for Saturday", the weather service said in a statement.

The forecast for next week calls for mostly sunny skies with highs in the 40s.

A storm brought rain and snow to the Denver metro area on Friday morning.

Even if you see your area getting less snow, that is not cause to celebrate.

Due to the potential for a wintry mix and some rain, the snow totals will vary over a small distance. In fact, areas along and south of 460 should be dry for most of Saturday.

Snow will be likely Saturday morning and into the afternoon, with temperatures expected to stay in the lower 30s.

Portions of central Virginia, the Virginia Piedmont and extreme southern Maryland. "The models this morning are 2 degrees colder than (Thursday), which will lead to higher amounts of snow and ice than were forecast (then)", CNN meteorologist Chad Myers says.

Roads will become quite messy Sunday and perhaps Monday as well, leading us to believe that there will be school schedule changes come Monday.
