Reports this week indicated the Lakers had offered as many as six players in a bid to land New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis by the Thursday transfer deadline.
That offer reportedly consisted of literally all of the Lakers young core (Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Ivica Zubac and Josh Hart), two first round picks, and taking on Solomon Hill's contract.
But McGee's serenade was a little different.
"I heard it", Ingram told reporters.
Davis' agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, seems to have made some inroads into tightening the trade market on the Pelicans, limiting what some rivals might be willing to offer based on the fear of losing Davis as a rental in 2020 free agency. I've been through and heard way worse things in my life.
It was the second time this season Charlotte lost a game after leading by 20. He is the fifth player to reach the milestone.
Conley scored 25 points and handed out nine assists for Memphis and Jaren Jackson added 23 in the Grizzlies' second straight win.
The Lakers have been actively trying to acquire Davis from the Pelicans, but according to a report from ESPN, New Orleans is nearly looking to be "overcompensated" in a deal to trade him before the deadline.
"Obviously, it's on everyone's mind", Gentry said Wednesday. Whether you are on your phone or whatever.
Lance Stephenson, Michael Beasley and Rajon Rondo have also been linked to the trade talks from the Lakers.
The Lakers have since pulled out of trade talks. There's a real possibility that the Pelicans and Davis could agree on a limited playing schedule post-trade deadline, but that's undetermined.
James became just the fifth player in National Basketball Association history to eclipse 32,000 points during the contest.
The Lakers have said that if the Pelicans revisit the trade during the summer, Los Angeles' offer will be less than what it is now. Prior to the Lakers' matchup with the Pacers on Tuesday, (7 p.m. ET - Watch on FuboTV with NBA League Pass add-on), James was asked about the potential addition of Davis and had a pretty politically correct response for media members.
