PGA Tour to reset Genesis Open scores after weather delay

Woods made his tour debut at Riviera in 1992, a skinny 16-year-old, much-hyped amateur whose reputation was already such that he attracted a large gallery. Reigning TOUR championship victor Tiger Woods is playing at the event and doubles as the tournament host.

Interestingly, in the 13 times they've started together, Woods has outscored McIlroy on six occasions, while McIlroy has earned bragging rights five times - including at last year's Genesis Open when he opened with rounds of 71 and 69 and Woods posted rounds of 72 and 76. Check in for highlights from every tournament plus player interviews, player profiles, tournament previews, swing analysis and all the greatest shots and incredible moments.

"I've always enjoyed playing with Rory", Woods added. "I love playing this golf course. For some reason, I've only played well here one time in the tournament". The greens are also smaller than an average PGA Tour track. He missed the cut in the 2018 Genesis Open. "Sometimes I need to back off from a shot and realise that I don't have to hit the target every single time", said Kiradech.

"It showed that I can win one of these events". Muirfield Village is the course Nicklaus built, and it was the first in 2016 to offer a three-year exemption to the victor, instead of two years for other PGA Tour victories.

"He is still learning and developing, so there are so many more wins ahead of him". He's won major championships; he's won events. Nicklaus never won at Riviera; Palmer won three times.

"When our committee convened during the suspension, we had the discussion that we felt that the visibility had in fact deteriorated from the 6:40 first time during the 50 minutes of play, and that conditions had actually deteriorated and visibility was going downhill, so to speak, making depth perception and reading the line of play to be very challenging", rules official Steve Rintoul said.

Woods' association with Riviera, and the prestige surrounding the tournament because of it, will make the tournament look different in 2020.

Arguably the greatest player of all time, 14-time major victor Woods has never won the Genesis Open, based in his place of birth, in 13 attempts.

"To do it here where I grew up and to do it here where my entire career got started, I couldn't ask for more of a symbiotic outcome", Woods said before a full house of media and Genesis executives who are in year-three of a 10-year commitment.
