Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: ‘Is it OK to still have children?'

Sen. Dianne Feinstein disagreed with a group of schoolchildren over climate change Friday and saw a video of the tense exchange hit the Internet, CNN reports. "I know what I'm doing", Feinstein says.

"I'm sure there are a lot of people who are really excited to work for her, and who might be willing to forgo some salary for a few years just for the excitement of working for a member who is so hot right now. You come in here, and you say, 'It has to be my way or the highway'".

As leading 2020 Dems advocate spending big on the Green New Deal, it turns out most Americans are anxious about other issues.

Ortiz told the Fox program that he was surprised to see the amount of support he's received from Democrats in NY and California who do not agree with the direction the party is heading. I know what I'm doing.

Progressive strategist Eric Schmeltzer said on Twitter that Feinstein should apologize for getting "snippy" with the kids and criticized her as too pragmatic on the issue in general.

Feinstein, in a statement to USA Today, did not apologise but said she wanted the children who visited her office to know they were heard and called the debate "spirited". Kamala Harris, D-Calif., declined to put a price tag on the Green New Deal and "Medicare-for-all", saying "it's not about a cost", but rather return on investment.

The 15-minute video of the impromptu Friday meeting captures the students and Feinstein debating the merits of the Green New Deal, an ambitious Democrat plan to shift the USA economy from fossil fuels to renewable sources such as wind and solar power.

This longer video prompted praise from many of her supporters, who feel she handled it well.

McCaskill said, "So I'm not chastising her". "And even if you don't have kids, there are still children here in the world and we have a moral obligation to leave a better world for them". Like, I just introduced the Green New Deal two weeks ago and it's creating all of this conversation. Why? The girl replies that she is 16.

Feinstein stated shortly after Nazi Republican billionaire, lifelong fascist and most of his life a Democrat, Trump was "selected" in November 2016 that she thought 70-year-old Trump would grow into his job!

"The key to legislation is to tailor something that you can write so that it can pass", Feinstein says. Late last week the youngest woman ever elected to Congress pegged the minimum salary for her congressional staffers at $52,000.
