Javed Akhtar ‘shocked’ to find himself credited in PM Narendra Modi biopic

Javed Akhtar's denial on Twitter stirred up a storm and quickly became a top trend.

The screenshot from "PM Narendra Modi" trailer credited Javed Akhtar at the bottom of the poster as a lyricist along with Central Board of Film Certification chief and well known lyricist Prasoon Joshi, Sameer and others. The noted songwriter claimed that he has not written songs for the Omung Kumar directorial.

"Am shocked to find my name on the poster of this film", Akhtar wrote on Twitter, attaching a screengrab of the credits from the trailer. The makers haven't responded to his tweet yet, but you'll know as and when we do.

When 40 CRPF soldiers were killed in the Pulwama terror attack last month, Javed Akhtar and wife actor Shabana Azmi had promptly called off their visit to Pakistan to attend her father Kaifi Azmi's 100th birth anniversary celebrations in Karachi. Along with his writing in the films, he is also known to speak his heart out without any filter. But, it could also be some another "Javed Akhtar'; the level of coincidence is too high for that". Among the film's producers are Vivek's father Suresh Oberoi, Anand Pandit and Acharya Manish. The Omung Kumar directorial is all set to bring the rag-to-riches story of Prime Minister Narendra Modi - from his chaiwalla days to celluloid. The movie will hit the screens on April 12, 2019.
