Lottery players seek $750M prize, 4th largest in US history

Start saying goodbye to your coworkers, because you might retire with a $750 million-winning lottery ticket Wednesday.

The Powerball drawing will be Wednesday night, giving those who buy a $2 ticket a chance at winning the fourth-largest lottery jackpot in USA history. Or the world's most expensive vehicle - the $19 million Bugatti La Voiture Noire - for you and 38 friends.

If one ticket matches all six numbers, the victor will have a choice: the full $750 million jackpot in 30 annual payments or a one-time cash option of approximately $465.5 million before taxes.

Still, someone has to win eventually.

Eight tickets matched all five white balls, but missed matching the red Powerball in Saturday's drawing to win a $1 million prize. Now that's good karma.

The next drawing for what would be the fourth-largest jackpot in USA history is Wednesday.

The second-largest - a staggering $1.537 billion Mega Millions prize - was won last October by an unidentified woman in SC.

The $750 million estimated figure refers to the annuity option, paid over 29 years.

Looking for a place to buy a lucky ticket? A SC purchaser won a $1.54 billion Mega Millions jackpot.
