Maurizio Sarri: West Ham fixture should have been moved

Chelsea host West Ham on Monday night (9pm SA time kickoff) in the first of four matches in 11 days.

Callum Hudson-Odoi retains his place in the Chelsea starting line-up against West Ham on MNF, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek also starts.

Slavia beat Dukla in their league on Saturday. "It's very odd. I think they could have done more for the English teams in Europe", he said. "It's always nice to try a new league and it's my first taste of the Premier League".

The hosts came into the match knowing three points would move them ahead of Arsenal and Tottenham in the table - albeit having played an extra game - and they were by far the better team in the opening 20 minutes.

Sarri conceded however there is little chance of the scheduling situation changing in future, as he praised the Premier League's prowess at generating television rights revenue.

"It is important to have fun, for me".

Kovacic had grown exhausted at a lack of consistent starts at Real Madrid but has been a regular on loan for Sarri. To work without working, because for me, it's not work.

"In this moment of the season, we need to change", the Chelsea head coach said.

Sarri is realistic enough to know his players might not share his position in accepting a lower salary.

The world's governing body issued written reasons to the Premier League club explaining the initial reasoning for their ban and justifying why Chelsea's request for it to be put back for a year was rejected. But the Premier League was able to sell in the best way possible the Premier League [TV rights], so in England we are lucky.

One of United's key transfer targets is West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice, and as per reports, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and co. are ready to make lucrative bids to secure his services this summer.

"In that position, we have some problems because we have only Jorginho. Big quality not for the last pass, but big quality in terms of moving the ball". "I'd like very much that Kovacic will stay with us".
