New Pixel devices coming on May 7, Google suggests

Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL could be launching on May 7, hints a new teaser from the company. Photobooth is optimized specifically for the phone's two front-facing cameras, and adds yet another AI component under the Pixel 3's belt. There is also some footage from the trailers of Avengers: Endgame. May 7 is most likely the day Google will reveal the Pixel 3a line, according to a teaser posted on the Google Store. Marvel's Endgame launches on April 26th.

The next Google event is happening on May 7.

Google has also released a promotional video which showcases the different features of the Pixel 3 like Google Maps navigation, Google Assistant, Pixel Camera Top Shot and the new AR Playmoji pack. Unfortunately it seems someone at Google didn't fancy the name "Pixel 3 Lite", and fancied something far more boring, but hey ho.

Google's Pixel 3a XL is expected to be a bit higher-end and come with a 6-inch screen. Add that to 4GB of RAM and a 12-megapixel camera, and the handset should be far more affordable than the Pixel 3 Google launched a year ago.

Buying Google's Pixel phones has always been harder than it needed to be in the US.

The term universe ties in nicely with the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as does the tagline "Help is on the way". The superheroes include Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Nebula, and Okoye that will be accessible through Playground.

The page does have the word "Avengers" in the url, so it could be an announcement for an "Avengers" edition of the Pixel 3 phones and not necessarily the Pixel 3a series.
