US Democrats issue subpoena to see unredacted Mueller report

"With the release of this report, it would appear that we have yet another confirmation that Special Counsel Mueller's findings are consistent with the findings of the House Intelligence Committee from previous year: No collusion or conspiracy was committed by President Trump or members of the Trump campaign".

The Mueller report included many details about attempted meddling by Russian agents in the 2016 USA presidential election, and possible obstruction of the special counsel's investigation by President Donald Trump.

The report by special investigator Robert Mueller has provided, after nearly two years of investigations, no clear evidence of misconduct on the part of President Donald Trump, or members of his election campaign camp.

"And Trump has furiously rejected congressional scrutiny of his presidency - taking the unprecedented step Monday of suing a Democratic committee chairman to block a subpoena for his financial records". But Schiff said the House might "undertake an impeachment nonetheless".

As for the report's actual commentary on possible criminal charges against Trump, Mueller's team noted that they could not exonerate him on obstruction. Even though Rogers signed the memo about the conversation and put it in a safe, he told investigators he did not think Trump was giving him an order. He said at a news conference in Helsinki after his 2017 summit with Russian leader Vladimir Mr Putin that he gave weight to Mr Putin's denial that Russia meddled in the 2016 election, despite the firm conclusion of USA intelligence agencies that it had.

During the call to Rogers, the president "expressed frustration with the Russia investigation, saying that it made relations with the Russians hard", according to the report.

It remains to be seen how many Democrats will get on the impeachment bandwagon. So it was something of a surprise Saturday when the White House emailed reporters three pictures, taken by an official photographer, of Trump in his golf gear alongside Rush Limbaugh, the conservative radio firebrand whose audience Trump has deemed essential to his political future.

Trump's remarks follow Elizabeth Warren's recent call for impeachment proceedings against the president following the release of the report.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren of MA and Julian Castro, a former Housing and Urban Development secretary, are for impeachment proceedings.

Democratic House Oversight Committee chairman Elijah Cummings said on CBS television's Face the Nation that he could foresee possible impeachment proceedings against Mr Trump, "but I'm not there yet".

Levin said Mueller's findings were essentially an "impeachment report", and the actions of the mainstream media and Democrats are a "disgrace".

Mueller's report last week described in vivid detail episodes in which Trump is said to have dispatched allies to fire Mueller, shut down his investigation and lie.

He described, for instance, being called at home by the president on the night of June 17, 2017, and directed to call the Justice Department and say that Mueller had conflicts of interest and should be removed. "We will not let Russian Federation off the hook for its crimes". His oldest son, Donald Trump Jr., declined to be voluntarily interviewed by investigators, according to Mueller's report.

One day after Trump claimed total victory in the Mueller report saga, he lashed out at Mueller.

"I don't see any reason why it would be" Russia, Mr Trump said. Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, spoke multiple times to Mueller's team.

"We planned to do it if we needed to".
