Of Course Meghan Markle’s Dad Has *Thoughts* About That New Lifetime Movie

Melania and Donald Trump are set to make their first state visit to the United Kingdom next week, and although Prince Harry, Prince William, and Kate Middleton are all scheduled to meet with the Trumps, Meghan Markle is not.

Queen Elizabeth II will be hosting Trump and his wife on their three-day visit in June.

There's a simple explanation for this: Markle is still officially on maternity leave, so she'll likely be at home with baby Archie.

Meghan's schedule does not necessarily have any political overtones.

Meghan even appeared on the cancelled Comedy Central show "The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore" in 2016 and slammed Trump, who was then just a presidential candidate. But she has expressed her distaste for Trump in the past.

While there's nothing to suggest that Markle is intentionally snubbing Trump, it's unlikely that the former actress will be disappointed to miss out, given her past public statements about the president. "I think it was in 2012, like, the Republican Party lost the female vote by 12 points - that is a huge number and with as misogynistic as Trump is, and so vocal about it, that is a huge chunk of it", she said.

On Tuesday, June 4, President Trump will have meetings with newly-resigned Prime Minister Theresa May. The protests followed Trump to his golf resort in Scotland, where a dozen demonstrators staged a "protest picnic", chanting "Trump is a racist!"

Though Prince William and Kate Middleton aren't on the itinerary for an official meeting (Prince Harry is reportedly joining a lunch with Trump and the Queen), they'll reportedly be in attendance for the state banquet for the Trumps. Trump's trip is timed to coincide with events commemorating the 75th anniversary of D-Day.

Meanwhile, Duchess Meghan's estranged father, Thomas Markle, previously claimed that Prince Harry told him to "give Trump a chance".
