Sony Presentation Compares PlayStation 4 to the Upcoming PlayStation 5

The PlayStation 5 official load time has been revealed via a video posted on Twitter. The video highlights performance differences between the two consoles using Spider-Man as the test subject.

"In a statement sent out following the presentation, Sony said that the "two keywords for the future direction of PlayStation are "immersive" and "seamless, '" with the "'Immersive" experience created by dramatically increased graphics rendering speeds, achieved through the employment of further improved computational power and a customized ultra-fast, broadband SSD".

This sounds like a throwback to the bad old days of Sony when the various departments barely talked to each other, one of the factors that caused Sony to undergo a massive, and very successful, restructuring over of the past few years.

Remote Play: Turns PlayStation 4 (PS4), which is expected to reach 100 million units in cumulative sales this calendar year, into a streaming game server, providing streaming content at the closest point to users. The limitations of PS Now has forced Sony to seek a collaborative effort, and they've obviously concluded that Microsoft's Azure technology is the better bet.

The analyst also didn't rule out the possibility of Microsoft, and Sony's streaming services being offered on Nintendo platforms.

Microsoft and Sony announced on Thursday they are going to explore joint development of future cloud solutions that will benefit their respective game and content streaming services.They're also looking into ways to integrate Microsoft Azure data centers with Sony's streaming services.

The investor meeting also revealed that Sony intends to keep supporting the PS4 for at least the next three years, referring to it as "the engine of engagement and profitability".
