It is not now clear what happened inside the hotel room or how the three died.
Arrows were found in the bodies of three people found dead in the southern German city of Passau on Saturday, police confirmed.
While investigators reportedly do not suspect that a fourth person was involved and believe that the incident may have been suicide, the precise chain of the events that led to the deaths still needs to be established, according to Lower Bavaria's Police Chief Josef Eckl.
They said it is not clear what their relationship was, what happened inside the hotel room or how exactly the three died.
The dead, a 53-year-old man and two women aged 33 and 30, are all German citizens.
'There are now no indications of possible involvement of other persons'.
Passau prosecutor Walter Feiler told the German news agency dpa later Monday that the couple on the bed had several bolts in them and was found holding hands.
"It was a completely quiet night", another of the hotel's guests told Passauer Neue Presse (PNP), adding that she had not seen any suspicious activity.
The three arrived in the evening the day before the tragedy and reportedly wanted to stay three nights without breakfast.
A shocked maid coming to clean the rooms found the bodies.
The hotel has reopened for business after police announced there was no more evidence to find.
The town is a popular tourist spot, especially for hikers heading into the Bavarian Forest.
