Transfer: Hazard's new club confirmed

Germany global Nico Schulz will arrive from Hoffenheim in a deal worth €27 million, while teenage defender Mateu Morey, 19, is joining on a free transfer from Barcelona.

"We are very pleased that Thorgan was fully convinced about joining Borussia Dortmund", said sports director Michael Zorc.

Having already confirmed the arrival of Germany left-back Nico Schulz from Hoffenheim, BVB have now announced the signing of Belgium global Thorgan Hazard from Borussia Monchengladbach for a reported fee of €25 million (R401 million).

Hazard, the younger brother of Chelsea superstar Eden, has developed into a great player in his own right.

After missing out on the Bundesliga title by two points, and with reigning champion Bayern Munich in transition, Borussia Dortmund has clearly sensed an opportunity.

The 26-year-old represented his former club on 182 occasions, scoring 46 goals and assisting a further 44 strikes.

"I am someone who sometimes follows his instincts and for me a good feeling is important", he said.

Thorgan Hazard will bring plenty of pace, directness, versatility and Bundesliga experience to this Borussia Dortmund squad.

Brandt's signing has now rounded off a very busy week for Dortmund, and there could yet be more activity before the summer transfer window slams shut.

'One of the main reasons for my change is that Dortmund narrowly missed the title last season, so there is room for improvement and I am very excited about the boys.

The Belgium worldwide has signed a five-year deal with the Bundesliga runners-up, after five years with Gladbach.

Brandt was unveiled with a video posted to Dortmund's Twitter page, showing him drinking from a glass of water marked with the club crest, before posing in the team's yellow and black kit.
