Accidental Cat Filter Makes Politician's Live Stream Hilarious

When you think of the cat filter, you probably picture a teenage girl, messing around with her friends and uploading selfies to Instagram.

The original video has since disappeared from the regional government's official Facebook feed. Perhaps this is what made the situation in Pakistan so amusing on Friday.

The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan suffered an online blooper after its social media team live streamed a press conference which had its provincial leaders unexpectedly donning cat ears and whiskers.

In a statement posted on Twitter, the ruling party's social media team wrote after investigating it determined "human error" by a hardworking volunteer caused the mistake.

The country's Minister of Health and Information, Shoukat Yousufzai, was caught on camera wearing an unlikely face - adorable cat ears and whiskers. Imagine their level of efficiency.

The Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf party (PTI) said the "cat filter" was switched on mistakenly by a "hard-working volunteer" just as Shoukat Yousafzai, information minister for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, was filmed speaking to journalists. However, images from the press conference are still available on social media.

Yousafzai told the Agence France-Presse that he wasn't the only one affected by the filter and seemed amused by the incident.

"The cat filter was turned on by mistake" Yousafzai said, adding "let's not take everything so seriously".

Yousafzai took his short-lived makeover in stride.
