England batsman Jason Roy crashes into umpire in comical moment against Bangladesh

The 12th match of the ICC World Cup 2019 will be played today between hosts England and Bangladesh at Cardiff at 2-30 PM (PST). We certainly don't. They are a side that has played a lot of cricket. It was the second-highest World Cup score by an England batsman, falling just short of Andrew Strauss' 158 against India in 2011, and the biggest so far at this tournament.

Morgan said England would be ready for anything Bangladesh can throw at them, including the possibility of an opening spin attack as seen during their previous two games which yielded quick wickets.

The only downside for England was a hip injury to Jos Buttler, which will be assessed on Sunday.

Roy went on to reach his ninth ODI hundred off 92 balls as England continued to pile on the runs, before smashing three sixes in a row to pass 150, only to be caught by Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza the very next ball in the 35th over.

Shakib Al Hasan hit a valiant century in the second innings but a lack of significant contributions from other batsmen meant Bangladesh were bundled out for 280 in reply. Watching the ball dribble for four because of a misfield, Roy - jogging leisurely between the wickets - accidentally ran straight into unsuspecting West Indian umpire Joel Wilson.

Joe Root scored 21 before he played on off the bowling of Mohammad Saifuddin.

The victory will help to exorcise the ghost of 2015 World Cup when England were knocked out by Bangladesh after beating them by 15 runs.

The in-form Roy completed a 92-ball century in freakish fashion when, not looking, he collided with umpire Joel Wilson as he completed what should have been a single to take him to 97, only for Mithun at deep square leg to misfield a ball for four.

Ben Stokes (6) was dismissed by Muztafizur Rahman as he was caught at poit by Mortaza.

For England, Liam Plunkett came in for Moeen Ali while the Bangladesh team fielded an unchanged playing XI.

Roy was 38 not out and Bairstow 27 not out.
