Fashion icon Gloria Vanderbilt dies at 95

Fashion icon Gloria Vanderbilt has died at the age of 95. In the late 1970's, her Gloria Vanderbilt line of skin-tight designer jeans were all the rage. She worked as a painter, a writer, an actress and designer.

When Cooper questioned why she first married a 32-year-old Hollywood figure, Vanderbilt told him, "Sweetheart, I was only 17". Here are some ways. During the closed hearings, Stokowski accused Vanderbilt of partying instead of spending time with their children. "Born in 1924, her father, Reginald Vanderbilt was heir to the Vanderbilt railroad fortune but gambled away most of his inheritance".

"Gloria Vanderbilt was an extraordinary woman, who loved life, and lived it on her own terms", Cooper said in a statement. Her paternal aunt would eventually win custody over the girl and her share in the trust. "Her private self, her real self - that was more fascinating and more lovely than anything she showed the public".

Vanderbilt became the nation's "poor little rich girl", pulled in conflicting directions by the people who loved her.

"We mourn her - and offer her condolences to the family", said Flynn.

"Her mother had married the wrong Vanderbilt - an affable drunkard and spendthrift", who died when Vanderbilt was 15 months old, according to the NY article. She wanted to feel it all.

In her final illness, Vanderbilt was accompanied by those closest to her. She studied acting and art, before thrusting into the tabloids as a fashion model.

In an interview with The New York Times, she said she wasn't embarrassed about the explicitness of her new book, saying: "I don't think age has anything to do with what you write about". The camera shook a little as he began to chuckle alongside her.

By the 80s, she was a household name. That logo became a company trademark from her first professional play, "The Swan". The judge also fired the one person my mom truly loved and needed, her nanny, whom she called "Dodo".

She put 25 oil paintings on exhibit in Manchester, Vermont, in 2007, and in 2012, staged "The World of Gloria Vanderbilt: Collages, Dream Boxes and Recent Paintings" at the New York Design Center.

She has had a long, rich retail history that included clothing, jewelry, shoes, home and paper goods and furnishings.

Vanderbilt also appeared on Broadway and on television and published multiple novels, including her 2004 book, "It Seemed Important at the Time: A Romance Memoir".

Vanderbilt had four sons, two with Stokowski - Stanley and Christopher - and two with Cooper. You know that.' And she was right. "The only thing that would embarrass me is bad writing, and the only thing that really concerned me was my children". She said the connection was instant, that she knew him for a week and married him three weeks later.

Cooper shared the news with his network home, CNN, along with a touching video obituary covering highlights of Vanderbilt's larger-than-life story. "I always feel that something wonderful is going to happen". She had no idea the trouble that money would create. She also exhibited her art in venues including the Hammer Gallery in NY and the Southern Vermont Arts Center in Manchester.

"Gloria Vanderbilt, my mom, lived her entire life in the public eye", Cooper started. Carter died by suicide in 1988 at age 23. The marriage, said to be abusive, ended in divorce within a few short years.
