Hudson-Odoi to perform U-turn and ink Chelsea deal

Chelsea are now confident that they can keep their young star, Callum Hudson-Odoi, with the Europa League Champions looking to seal a new contract in the coming days.

Sport Bild reporter Christian Falk rubbish suggestions from Evening Standard writer Simon Johnson that negotiations between Hudson-Odoi and the club had reached a breakthrough, with the youngster expected to sign a five-year-deal in west London "in the next few weeks".

However, the Blues made a decision to snub multiple offers from the German champions and thereafter, Hudson-Odoi was offered with a fair chance to impress in the Premier League until he succumbed to a season-ending Achilles injury.

The new contract could see him pocket as much as £100,000 a week after a drastic increase in his value following impressive performances for Chelsea and having won his first call for England.

The Bundesliga giants were tipped to come back in for him this summer and Hudson-Odoi reportedly saw his future away from Stamford Bridge.

Hudson-Odoi wanted the move but was enjoying a run of games in the Premier League before getting injured.

While Bayern are still keen to sign Hudson-Odoi, they have turned to other targets as they look for replacements for Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.

One of the reasons for waiting until the Hazard deal completes, is that Hudson-Odoi may inherit the Chelsea #10 shirt.

Unfortunately for Hudson-Odoi, his season ended early when he suffered an ACL injury. Both players are likely to be out for a total of six months, but that has not affected Chelsea's eagerness to renew the pair's contracts.
