Manchester United bid big for West Ham’s Diop

Manchester United is being linked with a swoop for West Ham United revelation Issa Diop, mere months after the former Red Devils manager credited the Irons for identifying the player in France.

It looks highly unlikely that United will include Martial in a deal to lure Diop from West Ham irrespective of the fact that they desperately need a centre-back.

Some reports have named Phil Jones as the man involved in the deal but the Hammers aren't interested in the defender.

The French forward has had his problems at Old Trafford and Jose Mourinho wanted to sell him and sign Ivan Perisic in his place last summer.

Manchester United fans are on the outs with Anthony Martial. It is not known who, at this stage, United would be open to sending in the opposite direction.

Leicester City's Harry Maguire is another player United are interested in but the Foxes are digging their heels in as they seek £90m for the England global - a fee which has put off United's rivals Manchester City.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already added Daniel James to his side since the season finished but will be hoping for more additions soon.

One player Man United are reportedly targeting is Crystal Palace's Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side had the worst defence of the top nine PL clubs last campaign and conceded their most ever goals in a single Premier League season.

Some are getting excited at the potential new signing, whilst others are just enjoying their club appearing to wind United up.

Sportsmail understands West Ham are reluctant to sell 22-year-old Diop, who they signed from Toulouse in a club-record £22million deal in June 2018. He obviously hates YOUR football team and has no interest in synchronised swimming.
