Finland-based game studio Next Games is developing the new Stranger Things mobile game.

Nike has teamed up with Netflix powerhouse series Stranger Things to release a new collection consisting of six different sneakers.

Season 3 of Stranger Things premiers on July 4, so the event will likely begin earlier in that week to build anticipation.

The mobile game will reimagine the Stranger Things universe in the style of an 80's Saturday morning cartoon.

If you heard that a company was to announce video games, Netflix wouldn't be very high on the list of names you'd think of. On its own service, Netflix introduced an interactive video format in 2017 that gives viewers "choose your own adventure" A-or-B story options, such as its programs Black Mirror: Bandersnatch and survival reality show You vs. Wild. "The challenge with "Dark Crystal' is living up to 30 years of fandom and the expectation that comes with that".

The game aims to stay true to the original horror fiction series while adding extra content to the storyline.

As for the gameplay itself, Netflix revealed that it will be a puzzle-based RPG that will rely heavily upon location-based gameplay a la Pokemon Go.

We're closer than we've ever been before to the arrival of season three of Stranger Things. Now, in an official press release-and in keeping with the show's mysterious narrative-Nike filled us in on the backstory behind reviving the '80s-inspired style. "We've got a few other projects". "Xbox, Fortnite, or HBO or a long list", Netflix chief executive Reed Hastings said during a recent earnings call.
