Transfer: Icardi in shock swap deal for Man United’s Lukaku

FcInterNews does not suggest if Inter will accept the Old Lady's proposal for Icardi, but the report claims the money raised from his sale would be immediately invested in signing Lukaku.

The Daily Mail is reporting that the Red Devils are looking to secure a transfer fee in the region of £80m for Lukaku, which would see them recoup the majority of their outlay on the Belgium global.

Haller has always been linked with a move to St James's Park, with United running the rule over the the Paris-born ex-French Under-21 global as far back as 2017, when the Eintracht Frankfurt striker was with former club Utrecht.

Icardi scored 17 goals in 37 appearances this season, but the Argentine was stripped of the captaincy in February following a bust-up with Inter's hierarchy.

Metro also reports that Serie A club AS Roma are now interested in a move for Icardi and that they have offered their striker Edin Dzeko in exchange for the 26-year-old.

Manchester United are set to compete in the Europa League next term after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side finished in sixth place in the Premier League table.

The Napoli deal-maker is claimed to have told the striker's representatives that they are prepared to start a negotiation with Manchester United. However, Icardi seems pretty reasonable at this price range and hence United boss Solskjaer could consider going for him in the days to come.
