Georgia woman drops, fatally hurts baby during fight

Auriel Callaway, 24, was taken to a hospital, where she died.

"We investigated the incident and determined the baby did not receive his injuries how it was reported". Clark was charged with false statements and writings and obstruction of an officer for her involvement in the case, according to police.

Shocking CCTV video shows the moment Harrison dropped the tot after trying to retaliate after another woman swung a bag at her.

Karen Harrison was charged with the murder of her child following the fight outside Thomas Beauty.

Harrison told police the baby was injured when he fell from family friend Carneata Clark's arms.

Carneata Clark, the other woman who was not involved in the fight but allegedly help Harrison lie to investigators, still has pending charges. As they continued to fight, others ran to the aid of the baby boy who was left on the pavement.

Harrison is now facing felony murder charges, first-degree child cruelty, second-degree child cruelty, simple battery and affray charges.

It isn't clear what the two women were fighting about.

Harrison was handed her baby following the fight, but waited until the following day to take him to hospital.

Lieutenant Freddie Williams, of Moultrie Police Department, told WTXL TV: "It's very disturbing that two adults would fight in a public place, especially while holding a three-month-old child in her arms". "Then we got information that there was a fight".

The fight took place in the auto park outside of the store.

The other woman hasn't been charged in the brawl, but more arrests are possible, officials said.
