Grizzlies now interested in trading Iguodala

According to Stephen A. Smith on his ESPN radio show on July 1, he said the Los Angeles Lakers are working toward landing Iguodala this summer.

The Memphis Grizzlies may have no intention of keeping Andre Iguodala after they acquired him in a trade with the Golden State Warriors, but they are not working with him on a buyout - at least not yet. The three-time National Basketball Association champion is a former client of Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka, so there is a relationship already set up with the team. Memphis, reportedly, won't buy him out of his contract and will shop him ahead of the start of the season. The Rockets and Mavericks are among the teams interested in the former Finals MVP, per MacMahon.

Iguodala was recently part of a reported three-team, sign-and-trade deal that ended with Golden State shipping him to Memphis and landing All-Star guard D'Angelo Russell from Brooklyn in return. As the Warriors' sixth man during the 2018-2019 season, he averaged 5.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. And though he likely wouldn't have a say in where he goes from the Grizzlies, who knows what could happen after that.

Andre Iguodala was traded to the Grizzlies, but he might not be there very long.

Iguodala's ready to help a competitive team.
