The people of New Orleans may have a problem with that but those who are fans and follow the Duke Blue Devils certainly will refer to the Pelicans that way.

Redick will step in and provide elite outside shooting for the rebuilt Pelicans.

The New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to a two-year deal with free agent guard J.J. Redick, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Whether it's because of money, pride, or his perceived role, J.J. Redick is gone and the Philadelphia 76ers are going to have to get creative to replace his production. It's paid off in a big way for him, as Redick has averaged a career-high in scoring in each of the last two years.

Free agency - actual free agency - has started.

Having experienced postseason success in Philly, Redick re-upped with the Sixers on another one-year deal this past season, this time averaging 18.1 points per game.
