Bournemouth fell in both legs to Manchester City last season, losing 1-3 and 0-1.

Aguero scored two of City's three goals at the Vitality Stadium, helping Pep Guardiola's side on to our ninth Premier League victory out of nine games against the Cherries.

Moments later Raheem Sterling doubled City's lead with a confident finish after David Silva concluded a sweeping move with a perfectly angled pass to the England striker.

Bournemouth's attempt at a comeback suffered a blow when Charlie Daniels was forced off midway through the first half and was replaced by Harry Wilson.

That decision came after Raheem Sterling had a goal ruled out for offside in City's opener against West Ham and Gabriel Jesus was denied a last-minute victor against Tottenham, with both of those decisions involving VAR.

Bournemouth managed to pull a goal back on the stroke of halftime, with substitute Wilson finding the back of the net with a superb free-kick that left Ederson with no chance.

But Aguero showed his poaching skills again in the 64th minute to smash home his second after more good work from man-of-the-match Silva, who was making his 400th City appearance.
