Documents: Epstein ducked sex-abuse questions in deposition

Newly released court documents show that financier Jeffrey Epstein repeatedly declined to answer questions about sex abuse as part of a lawsuit.

Clinton said in July that he flew on Epstein's plane for "a total of four trips" to Europe, Asia, and Africa in 2002 and 2003.

Epstein had pleaded not guilty in the case, and a federal judge had recently denied his request to be released to home confinement.

Thousands of long-awaited court documents have been unsealed in a lawsuit against a woman accused of being Epstein's fixer, and the papers include references to the names of seedy book titles purchased by Epstein.

To Alfredo Rodriguez, Mr. Epstein's butler in the mid-2000s, that was one reason he suspected that his boss was engaged in sexual activities with underage girls.

A partial transcript of the September 2016 deposition was included in hundreds of pages of documents placed in a public file Friday by a federal appeals court in NY. Giuffre, claimed Maxwell defamed her by calling her a liar over her allegations against Maxwell and Epstein. "We can get you educated". "He had one meeting with Epstein in his Harlem office in 2002, and around the same time made one brief visit to Epstein's NY apartment with a staff member and his security detail", according to a statement from Clinton's spokesman. A Florida lawmaker and lawyers for some of Jeffrey Epstein's accusers say they will continue to seek justice despite the financier's death by suicide. "Their whole entire lives revolved around sex".

A Justice Department spokeswoman and a spokesman for the US attorney's Office in NY, which brought the new case against Epstein, declined to comment.

Prosecutors have not accused Maxwell of any wrongdoing. DOJ says FBI is investigating. "Governor Richardson has never met Ms. Giuffre".

The New York Times reported Epstein had hung himself and that his body was found Saturday morning around 7:30 a.m. NBC News reported that after Epstein was found, he was taken to a hospital in Lower Manhattan and arrived in cardiac arrest. They say Epstein is protected by an agreement he reached with federal prosecutors in Florida a dozen years ago. U.S. Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta resigned last month after coming under fire for overseeing that deal when he was U.S. attorney in Miami.

But he avoided federal prosecution under a plea deal that required Epstein to admit to a single Florida state charge of soliciting prostitution from a minor and register as a sex offender. She said "the reckoning of accountability begun by the voices of fearless and truthful victims should not end" with Epstein's death. Other messages from unknown numbers also suggested they had found young women for Epstein.

Epstein's lawyers did not immediately respond to emails seeking comment Friday.
