Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren in statistical tie in national poll

Warren captured the second place position with support from 20 percent of Democratic primary voters, according to the poll conducted August 11-13.

Voters seeking a nominee who will build on the legacy of President Barack Obama back Biden over Warren by 16 points, with a 42 percent to 26 percent margin, while those who favor a "new approach" favor Warren over Biden by 5 points, at 26 percent to Biden's 21 percent.

Kamala Harris finished fourth with 8 percent. 16% say they don't know.

Former vice president Biden fared best, receiving 50% of Americans' votes to Trump's 38%, while 12% were undecided/third-party voters.

The most vocal critic has been Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) harping on the left's "corporate media" trope which has been circulating for more than thirty years.

The same poll found Warren trailing Biden by just one point nationally - signaling a statistical tie.

But Biden holds an 11-point advantage over Warren in support from male and female voters and a 22-point advantage from voters over age 45, according to the poll.

Polls in the lead-up to the election also overwhelmingly predicted Trump would lose handily to former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

In addition to the Post, Sanders also criticized The New York Times, CNN and MSNBC, saying that they operate under a certain "framework".

"Mr. Biden was speaking on education and the need to challenge students at a town hall hosted by the Asian & Latino Coalition in Des Moines when he made the remark, and then quickly sought to recover from it", the report states.

Meanwhile, Warren has been praised for her smart campaign strategy and detailed policy proposals, but she has not yet garnered the level of white working-class support that Biden and Sanders have managed to gain.
