Ronda Rousey Says Boat Door Nearly Severed Finger Shooting '911'

Since losing her title via brutal knockout and also being knocked out in her following bout she has retired, but her star power remains.

Her middle finger got the worst of it as it was broken and her tendon was almost severed and she also fractured the tip of her ring finger.

Courtesy of TMZ, the former WWE Raw Women's Champion broke two fingers while filming a tense sequence last week in Mexico.

The Baddest Woman On The Planet almost severed her finger when slamming a door during an emotional action scene.

She took to Instagram on Tuesday to explain what had happened.

Her finger will need to do a lot of healing after an accident like that.

According to Rousey, a boat door fell on her hand during the first take of the day and she just went about her business because she's one tough SOB. Modern medicine amazes me, I already had 50 per cent range of motion back in 3 days. Hopefully, they will be able to work around her injured digits when filming the rest of her role as a firefighter.

The gossip site reports that Rousey remained in character for the remainder of the scene, after which Rousey said, "Ow".

Rousey was reportedly transported to a San Diego hospital where her finger was repaired with screws and bolts. The third season of 9-1-1 will premiere on Monday, September 23 at 8pm ET on Fox.

The Riverside, California native rose to fame winning a bronze medal for judo at the 2008 Olympics, and going on to be the first-ever bantamweight champion of the UFC, and one of its most celebrated athletes.
