Udonis Haslem Agrees To One-Year Deal With Heat

Udonis Haslem re-signed with the Heat on a reported one-year deal, marking his 17th season in the league.

Part of three National Basketball Association championship teams, Haslem has career averages of 7.6 points and 6.7 rebounds in 854 games, ranking as the Heat's all-time leader in rebounds.

Haslem, who was considering retirement, announced Tuesday that he is returning for a 17th season.

He's also just the sixth player in National Basketball Association history to have such a long career with one team. If he does indeed return, he would be signed to a $2.6 million veteran's minimum contract. Haslem made the announcement on Instagram, saying "to be continued".

Haslem averaged just 2.5 points and 7.4 minutes per game in 2018-19.

On the Heat's all-time leaderboard, he ranks No. 1 under total career rebounds and ranks third under career blocks.

The biggest difference between Haslem and other players is how many times one of his teammates has been an All-Star. Dirk Nowitzki spent all 21 of his seasons with Dallas.

They were all first-round picks.

Just a season after giving Dwyane Wade a worthy send-off following a long and glorious career in Miami, the Heat are going to get the opportunity to do the same (albeit on perhaps a smaller scale) for Udonis Haslem in the 2019-20 season. The Miami native has been there ever since.
