Age could be a vote victor for Joe Biden

This is a historic primary season for Democrats.

Rahm served as chief of staff in the White House when Biden was vice president, and he has demanded that 2020 Democrats not attack Obama's record (in effect not attacking Biden's). Biden's campaign says it's his breadth of experience that makes him the best equipped to take on President Trump next year.

TODAY'S TMJ4 talks with its Political Panel about the winners and losers in the third Democratic debate. The candidates are fighting to differentiate themselves in the crowded Democratic field just months before primaries kick off.

The party's 2020 class, as soon as showcasing two dozen candidates, has in essence been slash in 50 percent by occasion principles demanding bigger polling and fund-boosting expectations.

Some people viewed the attack on 76-year-old Biden as ageist, but Castro has denied any correlation between the statement and Biden's age. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro, Sen.

"And I think that Castro has some really legitimate concerns about, can (Biden) be someone in a long, grueling campaign that can get the ball over the line?"

Kall said Castro's lower position in the Obama administration makes Castro unlikely convince anyone he's taken up Obama's mantle. Senator Cory Booker had slammed Biden with precisely the exact same argument in an earlier debate.

"Are you forgetting already what you said just two minutes ago?" said Castro, pointing to differences in their plans about how people could access government-funded health care.

Antjuan Seawright, a Democratic strategist in SC, which hosts the fourth nominating contest next year and the first that will have a sizeable proportion of black voters, said he did not think Biden's remarks would hurt him. "What I saw last night is fewer and fewer personal attacks". As he queried Biden on a part of his health planhe harshly accused the vice-president of not recalling what he'd said only minutes before.

"Biden wants to take the good and blame Obama a bit for some of the bad", Kall said.

Biden's past stances on school busing and crime-fighting have come up a number of times since he declared his candidacy. Harris noted that she has faced skepticism in each of her campaigns. "You have used hate, intimidation, fear, and over 12,000 lies as a way to distract from your failed policies and your broken promises".

Participants included former Vice President Joe Biden, Sen.

Democrats pinned the blame for white supremacist violence on President Donald Trump. However, all Democrats in this field agree that it needs an overhaul.

Democrats also criticized the president's handling of trade negotiations with China, but no candidate offered much detail on what Trump should be doing differently.

"We have a guy there that is literally running the country like a game show, ." Sen.

"Every office I have run for, whether it be district attorney or attorney general, I was told each time it can't be done", the California Democrat said.

Said Booker: 'I don't remember the last time I saw a record player.

The debate may have been unwatchable anyway due to its length, Kall said.

Biden on Friday held campaign events in Houston, where a day earlier he clashed with liberal rivals Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders on healthcare, challenging the two USA senators to be honest about the cost of their plans. "The question is, is there any room there", said Brady. Social issues like abortion and LGBT rights also received no air time.

"The debates have become stale", Kall said.

Of the respondents, 54 percent admitted they did not watch or listen to the debate or pay close attention to news stories about it. "They said nobody like you has done it before, you are - nobody is ready for you". The earlier debates featured more candidates, which meant the contenders were split into two groups and debated on two separate nights.

Biden's political career, at 46 years old, is older than that of several of the candidates on the debate stage, including Castro.

Candidates have until October 1st to qualify for the debate. U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, met a donor threshold but not a polling threshold set by the DNC.
