Borg's Team Europe triumph at Laver Cup as Zverev clinches victory

Alexander Zverev snatched the Laver Cup for Team Europe as he beat Canada's Milos Raonic in the final rubber of a thrilling three days of action in Geneva's Palexpo Arena on Sunday.

Rafael Nadal was forced to pull out of his singles and doubles matches on day three of the Laver Cup with an "inflamed hand".

Isner fought back from a set down to beat the German 6-7 (2/7), 6-4, 10-1 and haul Team World level at 3-3 after Europe led by two points after the opening day.

Meanwhile, Team World captain John McEnroe was also notified about the changes.

Despite, perhaps having the best pair of coaches, Fognini dropped the match, going down 6-1, 7-6 (3) against Sock, which was the first win for the U.S. tennis player since November 2018.

The news will come as a blow for Team Europe, who lost two matches yesterday, but remain two points ahead on seven against Team World's five.

According to reports, Rafael Nadal has bowed out of Lavar Cup final day after a wrist injury, the tournament officials have revealed on September 22.

"The crowd could feel it, I could feel it".

After being stunned by a lovely fan, Kyrgios was unable to return to the imperious form that saw him take the first set as Federer battle back into the contest to claim victory 6-7, 7-6, 10-7.

Nadal was supposed to partner Federer in the doubles and face Kyrgios in a singles tie.

Zverev started well, taking the first set 6-4, but dropped the second frame 3-6, allowing the big-serving Canadian back into the contest. Every win carries 3 points today.

"I'm super happy and super thankful to Roger and Rafa and the rest of the team".

"I've never played in something like that, it was unbelievable", said Zverev.

"That was such a big match for Team World to win, we really needed that", Fritz said. "I love a loud crowd, whether they are European or for us". "It's very special, especially playing in front of those guys and them trusting me to play the last singles game".

Strong play from the Americans on Sunday gave the world team an overall lead for the first time in the three-day competition.
