Girlfriend of missing New Canaan mother's husband faces new charge

A mother of five children aged eight to 13, Jennifer Dulos went missing on May 24 after dropping her kids off at school in New Canaan. Dulos refused to consent to police examining his phone and left "without providing any information on his wife's disappearance", according to the warrant. That's where police say a physical assault occurred in the garage.

Though searches by the state police Major Crime Squad and local and federal authorities have not yielded evidence of Jennifer Dulos herself, authorities have vowed to locate her.

The Connecticut State Police and Dulos' attorney, Norm Pattis, did not respond to requests for comment.

Fotis Dulos later had the employee's truck washed and detailed without telling the employee, and pressured the employee to change the seats in the truck, according to the warrant.

Jennifer Dulos, a New Canaan mom of five, has been missing since May 24, the Friday headed into Memorial Day weekend.

Fotis Dulos, the estranged husband of missing USA mother Jennifer Farber Dulos, was taken into custody this week and charged for a second time with tampering with evidence, officials said.

Those charges stemmed from surveillance footage that authorities said showed the pair dumping the trash bags containing items soaked with Jennifer's blood.

Fotis Dulos' girlfriend Michelle Troconis told police he had the truck cleaned days later, "because the body of Jennifer at some point was in there", according to the warrant, which details the vehicle's movements on the day Jennifer Dulos disappeared and subsequent days.

Michelle Troconis was previously charged with tampering with evidence and hindering prosecution in Jennifer Dulos case; Laura Ingle reports from New Canaan, Connecticut. "And I believe the prosecution is reluctant to charge Mr. Dulos with murder until they've assembled all of the evidence they can, including the body, before they file the formal charge. because the absence of a body could create a reasonable doubt in an ordinary prosecution". "It was unnecessary", an attorney for Fotis Dulos said in a statement to Fox News.

"It sounds like the state is trying to convince itself that Fotis is responsible for Jennifer's disappearance", Norman Pattis said in a statement. The new warrant speaks of a lying lover and handyman with something to hide.

Troconis's attorney Andrew Bowman told reporters she should be presumed innocent. He was released after posting a $500,000 bond and is due to appear in court on September 12. I love my children. They have pleaded not guilty and were freed on $500,000 bail.

Both Dulos and Troconis have pleaded not guilty to those charges.
