Samsung expands M series with Galaxy M30s, M10s ahead of festive season

Samsung Galaxy M30 was priced in the sub-Rs 15,000 category, and the Galaxy M30s will likely also be priced around that. The Galaxy M30s will be up against the likes of Xiaomi Mi A3, Realme 5 Pro, Redmi Note 7 Pro, Honor 20i and more, so there is a tough road ahead.

Here's how to watch Samsung Galaxy M30s launch event live. The front camera houses an 8MP front camera. The smartphone also has support for 15W fast charging. It comes in two variants, 4GB RAM (LPDDR4X) + 64GB storage (UFS 2.1) and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. The phone features 13-megapixel f1.9, 5-megapixel depth and 5-megapixel 123degree sensors. The Galaxy M30s and Galaxy M10s feature bigger batteries and ultra-wide angle lens. For imaging, there is a triple camera module at the back of the device.

Coming to the specifications, Samsung Galaxy M30s features a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-U display having a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels and a pixel density of 411ppi.

Samsung Galaxy M30s is the newest phone on the block and spec-to-spec comparison gives it a slight edge, at least on paper. Like other M-series smartphones, the Galaxy M30s is expected to come with Widevine L1 certification, which is required for streaming high-definition video content available on various over-the-top (OTT) platforms, such as Amazon Prime Videos and Netflix. On the front, you will find a 16MP camera. The Infinity-U display has a small waterdrop style notch at the top for the front camera. The Galaxy M30s will run Samsung's One UI, based on Android 9.0 Pie. Samsung has also put in its latest mid-range Exynos 9611 chipset, which according to the company is capable of maximizing its core performance for all kind of users and gamers with Game Booster technology.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C, etc. Galaxy M30s would be available starting September 29 in India in three colours, Pearl White, Sapphire Blue, Opal Black, etc. The Galaxy M10s 3GB RAM/32GB storage variant will cost you Rs. 8,999 ($126.27) will be available in two color options - Stone Blue and Piano Black. Powering the phone is a 6,000 mAh battery, making it the segment-first product with such a battery capacity. The setup consists of a 48MP primary lens, a 5MP depth camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera with a 123-degree field of view.
