Cain Velasquez Retires From MMA to Sign With WWE

Velasquez's new WWE deal is said to be lucrative, according to Mac Raimondi of ESPN.

UFC has not commented on Cain's retirement as of yet, but the former MMA star has been removed from the USDA drug-testing pool and the heavyweight rankings as of now.

Velasquez is a two-time heavyweight champion in UFC but had dabbled in wrestling lately.

Fury appeared on WWE SmackDown last week when he hopped the barricade in an attempt to confront Braun Strowman. The 37-year-old will be joining WWE, where he has signed a multiyear contract with the wrestling organization.

Two huge matches involving Cain Velasquez and Tyson Fury will take place at WWE's upcoming Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia, as confirmed today during a press conference. Fury is expected to return to the boxing ring in 2020 for a fight against Deontay Wilder, a rematch from their December 2018 bout.

"It's exciting times in the heavyweight division and you can tell the WWE understand, they understand what's going on". Last month, Fury sustained a severe cut above his right eye in a twelve round decision win over Otto Wallin.

Cain is leaving MMA with a 14-3 record. They love it. They're super excited.

Rey Mysterio then came out to introduce his "familia" Cain Velasquez, who reiterated the fact that he's beaten his opponent once before.
